First Do No Harm: Leveraging Technology to Develop an Opioid Stewardship Program in an Academic Health System

This one hour session will describe implementation of an opioid stewardship program at an academic medical center in the heart of the opioid crisis. At the conclusion of the webinar, led by the organization’s CMO, CMIO, and Director of Opioid Safety, attendees will be able to discuss the role of prescription opioids in sustaining the opioid crisis in 2019, identify methods to increase organizational priority of opioid stewardship programs, describe meaningful metrics to assess opioid use, and identify clinical decision support and information technology solutions to improve opioid use.
